Lloyd loved bright, brash dahlias, and regularly planted the quilled purple-pink 'Hillcrest Royal’. Fergus Garrett, who is on the RHS dahlia panel with me, is a real enthusiast too. As a result, Great Dixter is still a dahlia paradise.
