They should illustrate that they’re the party of job creation – creating jobs in areas where the Tory brand has long been associated with unemployment. And Conservatives need to make determined efforts to make a breakthrough with ethnic minority voters – in 2010 they lost constituencies they should have won, such as Edgbaston and Westminster North, where the non-white population was well above the national average.
