I panicked when we first got our puppy a few weeks back because she slept a lot and was fussy about eating etc, went off her milk.. drank only water.. but you know what.. its generally a normal process for them.. puppeis sleep a LOT, they are not used to being awake as much as dogs and if she is not eating food, maybe try something new.. My dog, maltese x shitzu is EXTREMELY fussy with what she will eat and I found that puppy food she did not like at all.. had to start her on dog food and she is doing a lot better now with what she eats. Try a little bit of My Dog, good for picky little dogs but also buy a few other varieties of canned food etc and see what she likes best. If you are still worried and she does not improve, definitely take her to the vet but as I said I think it is just a case of her adjusting to a new home, being fussy with her food possibly (or off her food because of her fretting) and as for water, would not worry, at 9 weeks do not need the puppy milk really, not essential.Good luck..Oh! Also.. they do not eat a whole lot as puppeis either so maybe give her half a My Dog in the morning Half in the afternoon and another Half at night.. Spread it out throughout the day so more likely to eat more.. and leave some dry food in her bowl between meals to snack on if she gets hungry (and good for her and her toileting). |
