I am a Shepherd owner of two myself, but I have a question about a different dog instead. I have recently volunteered to help a friend with some behavior problems with her 9 year old chihuaha. He is an extreme fear biter, and he's on death row to be euthanized if is behavior doesn't improve. I have had some dog handling experience, but mostly with my own GSD's, which has proved to me that although our GSD's can be a handful at times, I'm at a loss with this one! I fear that this dog may end up having to wear a muzzle for the rest of his life, or that he may end up under worse circumstances. Do you have any suggestions for dealing with fear aggression? When I've had other questions about my own GSD's, Carrie has always pointed me in your direction. Thanks so much for your time! |
