They are not to be outwardly aggressive towards humans but they are not supposed to run up and be every ones friend. Most are pretty affectionate with their families how ever if the person does not live in your home or is some one out on the street they are NOT family and your pet should not be that friendly with them.I have owned and trained this breed for the last 20 years. I work with a lot of dogs. I even work with a rescue that works with this breed.Your dog sounds like a very well behaved and great dog.How ever if you wanted a breed that was going to be every ones best friend Dobermans are not the best choice.They have been need to be less assertive and more family oriented and less sharp. Depending on the dog some are big goofy clowns that do love every one. Others are more stand offish and not as openly friendly. The more aloof type is more what the breed temperament is supposed to be like. |
