We currently have a loving, loyal,Boerboel mastiff aged 9, but due to his big size and weight, he has developed some health problems. He is also very old so I know he won't be with us for a lot of years anymore. My husband and I have watched a programme on Animal Planet about Newfoundland dogs and we both are very interested in this breed. We want to get a big dog breed puppy which we can train. We don't want another Boerboel as we feel we were lucky to get such a loving dog, seeing that Boerboels are sometimes aggressive towards children.
