Built to carry ammunition to Royal Navy ships, she spent the next 30 years mostly taking stores and ammunition between Rosyth Dockyard, then a key naval base, and a munitions depot just four miles upstream on the River Forth. But in 1978, she made a far longer voyage, when instead of being broken up she was sailed to Chatham Historic Dockyard, where she now forms part of its collection representing a cross-section of Britain’s naval heritage.
