The rationale for this shingles vaccination schedule (I presume) is that ‘the system’ could not cope with immunising everyone over the age of 70. Thus , as you have discovered, it has been staggered with every year only those aged 70 and 79 being offered the jab. The only way round this is to have it down privately - though it is not cheap. The Queen Anne Street Medical Centre in London (020 7034 3301) charges £200 (!) though they are currently out of stock, and expecting further supplies in December.
