Country of Origin:
Recognized in 1980, they were originally bred to herd cattle in Australia, the task for which they are still primarily used. Original breeding stock were the Blue Merle Highland Collie, the Black and Tan Kelpie, the Dalmatian and the Dingo.
Character:
The Australian Cattle Dog is loyal, a good worker,intelligent and rarely barks.
Temperment:
With early socialization, this dog's attitude to children and other pets is ideal.
Coat:
The coat has two layers, an outer layer that is weather-resistant, short and a bit rough and an inner layer that is thicker and shorter.
