Country of Origin:
Actually an American breed, with debatable heritage - some say Spain, others Australia. It was a popular herding dog with the Basques, many of whom settled in Australia. When Australian wool became popular in the US, Australian sheep were imported along with their herders and small blue dogs.
Character:
Intelligent and eager to learn. Very loyal and bonds closely with the family.
Temperment:
Good with children and other pets but shy around strangers.
Coat:
Medium to long hair in a dense coat.
Care
Low grooming requirements. Use a comb during shedding.
Colour:
Blue merle, red merle, tricolor (black or red w/tan and white)
