Country of Origin:
Developed in France as a hunting dog from the larger dog breed called the Grand Fauve de Bretagne which is now extinct.
Character:
Independent, friendly, brave and cheerful.
Temperment:
Gets along with children and other pets as long as it receives early socialization.
Coat:
Small, dense short hard hairs.
Care
Remove excess hair in ear passages. Claws must be kept short. Never trim the coat, but have it professionally plucked twice a year.
Colour:
Any color is acceptable, however they should have a close, hard, hound coat of medium length.
