Country of Origin:
Belgian - Since the middle ages these dogs have been hard working shepherd's dogs. Similar in color to the Belgian Tervuren but has a straight, short coat. Bears some resemblance to the German Shepherd and may be related, but it is built more squarely that that of the German Shepherd
Character:
This breed is a great watchdog and guard dog. It is intense, full of energy, serious and smart.
Temperment:
The Belgian Malinois can be aggressive toward other dogs and animals and is wary around strangers. It is good with children, provided it has has grown up around them and that the children are not unruly, . It should not be left unsupervised with small children.
Coat:
Colors can be rich fawn to mahogany, with black-tipped hairs. Its coat is short and straight.
Care
Needs to be brushed weekly, especially during its shedding period.
