Country of Origin:
Great Britain - This breed is neither old nor all English. Developed from the European shepherds such as Bergamasco or Russian Owtcharkas and then bred to the sheepdogs of the British Isles. Used as drover's dogs, they were sheared down annually in the spring with the sheep.
Character:
This dog is intelligent, social, and adaptable.
Temperment:
This dog gets along well with children, other dogs, and any household pets. Visitors will get a warm reception.
Coat:
Hair is very long, with a waterproof under-layer. Allowable colors are blue or grey. The head, belly, and front quarters are white.
Care
Regular thorough weekly grooming with a brush is required. Excessive hair around the pads of the feet must be trimmed and the ears must be kept clean.
